Our History

John Reynolds, President

It is perhaps a reflection of our rural roots that has made the Reynolds-Love Funeral Home association with the Lexington, Callaway and Overton areas so special. This year will mark the 60th year in business with many of our families coming from the same rural background. Founder Marlin Reynolds farmed near Seward until age 45 when he made the decision to leave the farm and go to mortuary school in Dallas, Texas. When he graduated, he returned to Nebraska and moved his family to Lexington in 1962. In 1984, son John went back to school, graduating from mortuary school in Dallas in 1986. Grandson Nick attended mortuary college in Denver, Colorado and is now the third generation in the firm. There are four full-time employees, including John, Tami, Nick Reynolds and Jessica Medrano-Angel. Our part-time employees are Kenny Pitkin, Shari Sheppard, Dave and Sheri Giesbrecht, Brenda Renken, and Steve Tomasek. We are pleased to announce we now have two Preneed Specialists, Sheri Giesbrecht, who joined us in September of 2012. Sheri is available for appointments and questions concerning any preplanning questions you may have. We also have Joel Frickey who is available for pre-need consultations, he joined the firm in 2014. These are the folks that are the "glue that holds us together". Reynolds-Love is a full-service funeral home. We offer pre-planning, monument sales and the "door is always open" for visiting or questions. John, Tami and Nick will be here for many years to come and welcome the opportunity to assist in any way we can.
