Virginia Lee Meyer, 91, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Ridgeway Senior Living in Lexington.

She was born on April 20, 1935, in Josselyn, Nebraska, to Esper and Mary (Shada) Casper. She attended Lexington High School until her mother became ill and had to take care of her. Virginia worked at the Minuteman Motel, at a local restaurant and also at Home Health Services until a decline in her eyesight.

She was united in marriage to Ovlin Owen and to this union, there were six children. Later, she was united in marriage to Larry M. Meyer on November 2, 1979, and gained another daughter. The couple made their home in Sutton and later moved back to Lexington, where they began their own business of L & V Meyer Transport. Virginia enjoyed bingo, motorcycle riding with Larry in the Chaparral Club and loved dancing. Her biggest love was her family.

Virginia leaves to celebrate her life: her sister, Carol Bihlmaier of Kissimee, Florida and brother-in-law, Wayne Herman of Reliance, South Dakota; children, Steve (Shannon) Owen of Omaha, Michael (Rai) Owen of Omaha, Kim (Ronald) Tobey of Merna, Julie (Gene) Knaggs of Kearney, Shelia (Ron Criss) Taylor of Elwood, Lori Holkan of Lexington, Lani (Dan) Grubb of Lexington; twenty-three grandchildren, 68 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, George, Mose, Paul, Nick, Jack, and sisters, Sophia, Georgia and Roberta.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, September 25, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington with Philip and Nathan Herman officiating.

Graveside Services will be held after the service at Elwood Cemetery in Elwood.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington with family receiving guests from 5-7 p.m.
