Virginia Louise Coryell

  Virginia Louise Coryell, 79, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away Sunday, Christmas Eve at Lexington Regional Health Center.   Virginia was born October 6, 1938, at Eddyville, Nebraska, to Clifford and Leota (Flint) Martin. She attended elementary school at Lomax and graduated from Oconto High School with the class of 1956. She was united in marriage to Virgil Coryell on December 7, 1957, in Oconto. Six children were blessed to this marriage: Cathy, Connie, Cheri, Mark, Ronda, and Trish.   Prior to having children, Virginia worked for a time as a Nurse’s Aide at Lexington Community Hospital. Once the children began arriving she directed her full attention to being a mother. She was a true homemaker, loving every moment spent with the children, keeping her home, cooking, baking, especially her homemade dinner rolls, canning, sewing, playing cards, gardening, hunting, riding a motorcycle, and taking long walks with Virgil. An amazing feat about Virginia is she became a licensed pilot at the age of 60! Virginia was a faithful member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church as well as the Altar Society.   She leaves to mourn her passing her husband of 60 years, Virgil of Lexington, Nebraska; six children: Cathy Messbarger of Hutchinson, Kansas, Connie (Bruce) Hird of Cozad, Nebraska, Cheri (Ed) Craig of Derby, Kansas, Mark (fiancé Tasha Ovando) Coryell of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Ronda (Chuck) Smith of Maize, Kansas, and Trish (Porf) Bliven of Lexington, Nebraska; one brother, Roger (Sharon) Martin of Eddyville, Nebraska; three sisters, Bonnie Eggleston of Oconto, Nebraska, Vi Eggleston of Oconto, Nebraska, and Darlene (Verlouis) Forster of Smithfield, Nebraska; two sisters-in-law, Dee Bacon of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Joan (Verlyn) Wolf of Boise, Idaho; sixteen grandchildren: Meghan, Jon Aaron, Christina, Regina, Maria, Cameron, Heather, Amber, Justin, Jennifer, Joshua, Kobe, Kensington, Tianne, Tawny, Joseph, and Jessica; four stepgrandchildren, Jarrod, Lindsey, Kirsten, and Angela; twenty-four great-grandchildren; also surviving are nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.   Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Clifford Martin; two sisters, Beulah Eggleston and Ruth Magoon; granddaughter, Regina Araujo, great-granddaughter, Evelyn Gregg; son-in-law, Randy Messbarger; Six brothers-in-law, Kenneth Eggleston, Keith Eggleston, Donnie Eggleston, Sid Magoon, Jim Coryell, and Jerome Coryell; and two sister-in-law, Rita Pierce, and Pearl Martin.   Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, December 28, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Lexington with Reverend Matt Koperski celebrating. The casket will be closed.   Burial will be in the St. Ann’s Catholic Cemetery.   Memorial Book Signing will be Wednesday, December 27, 2017, from 5-7 p.m. with Wake Service to follow at 7:00 p.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church.   Memorials are suggested to Children’s Hospital in Omaha, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, or St. Ann’s Catholic Church.   Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington is honored to be assisting the family with arrangements.
