Stuart Charles Shreves, 74, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at the Kearney Regional Medical Center.

He was born on February 1, 1952, in Lexington, Nebraska, to Otto and Elsie (Poppe) Shreves. Stuart graduated from Lexington High School with the class of 1970. 

After graduating from High School, Stuart began a diverse career path. Over the years, he held several positions, including working at the hay mills, working many years at Tyson, and a brief summer working with one of his great friends at Byrns Floorcovering Inc., reflecting a broad skill set and a strong work ethic.

Stuart was an individual with many interests and passions. He enjoyed fishing and found joy in creating pour paintings, an artistic pursuit that revealed his creative side. Stuart also enjoyed jet skiing and other water sports, frequently spending time at the lake with his friends. He enjoyed working with his hands, tinkering with cars often. Additionally, he had a special fondness for celebrating the Fourth of July, embracing the spirit and traditions of the holiday.

Survivors include his nieces and nephews, Lisa (Michael) Romine of Decatur, Texas, Brenda Roloff of Minden, Iowa, and Bruce Shreves of Omaha, as well as great nieces and nephews, extended family and many friends.

Stuart was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Elsie Shreves, and his two brothers, Stanley and Steven Shreves.

Cremation has taken place in accordance with Stuart's wishes, and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
