Salvador Vargas Sanchez

Salvador Vargas Sánchez, de 78 años, de Lexington, falleció el miércoles 22 de octubre de 2025 en el Centro de Salud Regional de Lexington, rodeado de su amada familia.

Nació el 26 de noviembre de 1946 en Villachuato, Michoacán, México, hijo de Silvestre Vargas Jiménez y Catalina Sánchez Guerrero.

Salvador nació con una fuerte ética de trabajo que dio forma a toda su vida. Después de perder a su padre a la temprana edad de cuatro años, Salvador comenzó a trabajar en la granja de su familia con solo seis años, aprendiendo el valor del trabajo duro desde el principio.

A los diecinueve años, se casó con el amor de su vida, Consuelo Carrasco, y juntos construyeron una hermosa vida y fueron bendecidos con nueve hijos. La mayor alegría de Salvador siempre fue su familia.

En 1966, Salvador comenzó su carrera laboral en California, donde continuó manteniendo a su creciente familia. En 1992, él y su familia hicieron de Lexington, Nebraska, su hogar. Allí, Salvador trabajó en Tyson Foods durante 30 años, ganándose el respeto y la amistad de muchos a través de su dedicación y amabilidad.

Fuera del trabajo, Salvador realmente vivió la vida al máximo. Le gustaba hacer ejercicio, correr maratones y ver a sus hijos jugar al fútbol en la liga Tyson. Le encantaba cantar canciones de José Alfredo Jiménez, cuidar su jardín, viajar y pasar tiempo rodeado de sus hijos, nietos y bisnietos.

La vida de Salvador fue un hermoso ejemplo de amor y perseverancia. Era un esposo, padre, abuelo, bisabuelo y amigo que tocó las vidas de todos a su alrededor. Su risa, sus historias y su cálida presencia permanecerán para siempre en nuestros corazones.

 Los sobrevivientes  incluyen a sus hijos Guillermo, Fredy, Salvador (jr.) Vargas Carrasco e hijas Lilia y Leticia Vargas Carrasco, 24 nietos, 13 bisnietos, así como muchas sobrinas, sobrinos, familiares y amigos. 

 Fue precedido en la muerte por sus padres y dos hijos Silvestre y Gustavo Vargas Carrasco, y su hermana Dolores Vargas Sánchez.

El velorio se llevará a cabo el domingo 26 de octubre de 2025, de 4 a 7 p.m. en la Iglesia Católica de Santa Ana en Lexington con un rosario a las 7:00 p.m.

La misa de entierro cristiano se llevará a cabo el lunes 27 de octubre de 2025 a las 2:00 p.m. en la Iglesia Católica de Santa Ana en Lexington con el Padre José Chávez oficiando.

El entierro se llevará a cabo en el cementerio Greenwood en Lexington.

Se sugiere amablemente a la familia que se otorguen monumentos conmemorativos para su posterior designación.

Salvador Vargas Sanchez, 78, of Lexington, passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at the Lexington Regional Health Center, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on November 26, 1946, in Villachuato, Michoacan, Mexico to Silvestre Vargas Jimenez and Catalina Sanchez Guerrero.

Salvador was born with a strong work ethic that shaped his entire life. After losing his father at the young age of four, Salvador began working on his family’s farm at only six years old, learning the value of hard work early on.

At age nineteen, he married the love of his life, Consuelo Carrasco, and together they built a beautiful life and were blessed with nine children. Salvador’s greatest joy was always his family.

In 1966, Salvador began his working career in California, where he continued to provide for his growing family. In 1992, he and his family made Lexington, Nebraska, their home. There, Salvador worked at Tyson Foods for 30 years, earning the respect and friendship of many through his dedication and kindness.

Outside of work, Salvador truly lived life to the fullest. He enjoyed exercising, running marathons, and watching his sons play soccer in the Tyson league. He loved singing along to songs by José Alfredo Jiménez, tending to his garden, traveling, and spending time surrounded by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Salvador’s life was a beautiful example of love, and perseverance. He was a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend who touched the lives of everyone around him. His laughter, stories, and warm presence will forever remain in our hearts.

He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, faith, and family unity that will continue to live on through his family and all who knew him.

Survivors include his sons Guillermo, Fredy, Salvador (jr.) Vargas Carrasco and daughters Lilia and Leticia Vargas Carrasco, 24 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sons Silvestre and Gustavo Vargas Carrasco, and his sister Dolores Vargas Sanchez.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 26, 2025, from 4-7 p.m. at St. Anns Catholic Church in Lexington with a Rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 27, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Anns Catholic Church in Lexington with Father Jose Chavez officiating.

Burial will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in Lexington.

Memorials are kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
