Robert Louis Meyer, 85, of Lexington passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at Emerald Nursing and Rehab in Cozad, Nebraska.

He was born on February 7, 1940, in Deshler, Ohio, to William and Iva (Firman) Meyer. The family later moved to Nebraska where Robert attended Lexington High School. On September 6, 1958, Robert was united in marriage to Carol Bringelson at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Lexington. Four children were blessed to this union: Robert, Jr., Rex, Michelle, and Amy.

In 1961, the family made their home in Lexington, where Robert and Carol owned and operated a local eatery named Park Place Sandwich Shoppe from 1988 until 1995. During this time, Robert also spent many years working for Tenneco Monroe until 1984. He also owned and operated Bob's Taxi, where he was the only taxi service in the area for many years.

Family was a big part of Robert's life, and he greatly enjoyed spending his days with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He also loved listening to the Grand Ole Opry on Saturdays. Bob was always making everyone smile and laugh and his grandkids adored him. He loved playing the guitar and watching NASCAR. He grew up as an outdoorsman helping his dad and his brother run the family bait shop and was also an avid hunter and fisherman.

Survivors include his children, Robert (Lori) Meyer, Jr., of Sioux City, Iowa, Rex Meyer of Lexington, and Amy Atwell of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren, Stacey (Ikrom) Artikov, Jessica Ennen, Trevor (Tisha) Meyer, Shannon (Jake) Lewis, Renee Atwell, and Mary Atwell; great-grandchildren, Aiden, Isaac, Easton, Ethan, and Tyler; brother, Jerry (Deb) Meyer of Blue Springs, Kansas; sister, Deanna Remmers of North Platte; brother,-in-law, John (Judy) Bringelson of Cozad, Nebraska; sisters-in-law, Karen Luttrell of Gothenburg, Marilyn (Dick) Wellensiek of Golden, Colorado and Nancy Werner of O’Neill, Nebraska.

Besides his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his wife Carol Meyer, daughter Michelle Sentelle, brothers Harold Meyer, Bill Meyer, and Ronnie Meyer, sister Betty Kind, brother-in-law Duane Kind, as well as his brothers that died at birth named Gerald Allen Meyer and David Lee Meyer.
