Richard Gale Walter

Richard Gale Walter, 76, of Oconto, NE died Saturday September 8, 2018 at Callaway District Hospital. Richard was born November 19, 1941 in Kearney to Wesley M and Eileen (Wilcox) Walter. He attended Oconto High School where he graduated in 1959. On October 6th, 1962 he was united in marriage to Karon Wellmann in Oconto, NE. To this union two children were born Todd and Tracey.   Richard was a member of member of the St. Ann’s Catholic church in Lexington, NE. Richard enjoyed a 50 plus year membership with the BPOE Nebraska Elks Association and many other organizations.   Survivors include his wife, Karon of Oconto, son Todd (Valerie) Walter of Lincoln, Ne, daughter Tracey (Todd) Sutherland of Eddyville, Ne, and two grandchildren, Chelsea Walter of Seattle WA, and Chase Walter (fiancée Morgan Mavis) of Lincoln, Ne. Brother-in-law and sister-in-law Kenneth and Marie Wellmann of Lexington, NE.   Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Lexington with a Rosary to follow at 7:30pm. Mass Of Chrsitian Burial will be held at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Lexington, Ne. Thursday Sept 13th, 2018 at 11:00 am with Father Matt Koperski, officiating. Interment will be at the St Mary’s Catholic Cemetery Oconto, NE. at 1:30 p.m., following a dinner at St. Ann’s Church .   He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Robert (Bob) Walter.   Memorials in lieu of flowers are suggested to a charity of the donor’s choice.   Reynolds Love Funeral Home in Lexington is honored to be assisting the family with arrangements.
