Phyllis Jean Hollibaugh, 91, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away on Saturday, November 29, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on November 10, 1934, in Overton, Nebraska, to Herman and Helen (Jorgensen) Adams. She attended school in Overton and graduated from Overton High School with the class of 1952. On May 21, 1952, Phyllis was united in marriage to the love of her life, Dale Hollibaugh in Overton. The couple were blessed with five children: Dale A., Cathy Ann, Chris, Robert, and Mike.
The family made their home in Eddyville until 2002 when Dale passed. Phyllis then moved to Lexington, Nebraska. She spent many years working for Plectron in Overton as well as driving the school bus for Sumner but was mainly a stay-at-home mom. Phyllis enjoyed being around the company of others and was incredibly active in many organizations over the years including the American Legion Auxiliary - Eddyville, Buzzard Red Hat Society, the Sumner Senior Citizens, the Chicks - Eddyville Homemakers, and was a member of the Tops Club.
In her younger years, Phyllis enjoyed going to dances with Dale and getting her hands dirty, working on her yard. You could often find her at home watching her favorite game shows, or spending quality time with her family. She loved spending time with her sister, Lois, grabbing a coffee, or spending time with her Aunt Bernadine. Phyllis' friendliness never wavered, always having a smile on her face and never missed a chance to lift someone's spirits. She always thought of others before herself.
Those left to honor her memory are her children, Cathy Ann Koll of Seward, Chris (Bill) Ross of Lexington, Robert (Pamela) Hollibaugh of Rapid City, South Dakota, and Mike (Tammy) Hollibaugh of Wallace, Nebraska; thirteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; brother, Kenneth Adams of Cozad; sisters, Lois Kehl of Lexington and Jeanie (Tim) Kirkbride of Palmer Lake, Colorado, as well as extended family and friends.
Besides her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Hollibaugh; son, Dale Hollibaugh; grandson, Cody Hollibaugh; brother-in-law, Ray Kehl; son-in-law, Lary Campbell; and sister-in-law, Arlene Adams.
