Phyllis A. Brown-Hendrix, 80, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, formerly of Lexington, Nebraska, died Sunday, April 8, 2018 in Council Bluffs. She was born May 31, 1937, in Fairbury, Nebraska, to Claude Merle and Agatha Ellerine (Koons) Seachord. Phyllis attended school in Lexington. Phyllis was united in marriage to Richard A. Brown. Five children were blessed to this union: Anthony, Phillip, Melody, Ellerine & Leroy.   The family moved to Lexington in 1964.  Phyllis was the manager of Delight Donuts in Lexington.  Richard would precede her in death in 1989.  Phyllis moved to Council Bluffs and found love again, marrying Richard Hendrix. He preceded her in death in 2006. She was very active in the boy scouts and girl scouts when her children were young. Phyllis was the Outstanding New Mrs. Jaycee for State of Nebraska in 1970 and 1971.  She was also involved in several community projects including the planting of many trees.  She was a homemaker who enjoyed making crafts and sewing. Survivors include her children; sons, Tony (Cindy) Brown of Norfolk, Nebraska and Andy (Cheryl) Brown of Sidney, Australia; daughter, Ellerine Rodriguez of Council Bluffs, Iowa; one brother, Dewayne (Susan) Seachord of Beatrice, Nebraska, one sister, Sherry (John) Boyer of Edmund, Oklahoma; fifteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren & four great-great-grandchildren. Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Richard Brown and Richard Hendrix; son Leroy; daughter, Melody and a sister, Jane Funeral Services will be held Friday, April 13, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home with Pastor Anne Gahn, officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery at Lexington. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 13, from 9-11 a.m. at Reynolds Love Funeral Home in Lexington. Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation. Reynolds-Love Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
