Perry Folkers, age 62, passed away May 22, 2024, at Bryan Medical Center East in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Perry was born in Gothenburg, Nebraska, to Elmer and Norma Folkers on October 29, 1961, and grew up in a loving home in Lexington, Nebraska where he was one of three boys. He excelled in many sports including football, basketball and track and graduated from Lexington High School in 1980.
Perry was an amateur artist and loved doodling, sketching, and painting. At one time he owned Signs of Today where he specialized in hand lettered signs, billboards, and murals for area businesses, He later owned Folker’s Painting where he was a self-employed painter.
Perry’s family and friends would describe him as having a kind and thoughtful disposition.
Perry was preceded in death by his father Elmer Folkers. He is survived by mother, Norma Folkers of Gothenburg; wife Bonnie Folkers of Lexington, stepdaughters Tish Myers of Augusta, Georgia and Lachele and Crystal Myers-Noonan of Superior; brother, Mitch (Sandra) Folkers of Elkhorn, Jon (Liz) Folkers of Omaha; nephew, Luke (Laura) Folkers of Lincoln; niece, Stephanie (Dru) Kastler of Omaha; nephew, Jack (Rachel), Joe Folkers, and Jay Folkers, all of Omaha. He also has six great nieces and nephews.
Perry wished to be cremated and no funeral services are planned.
