Patricia R. "Pat" Twehous

      Patricia R. “Pat” Twehous, 86, of Lexington died Friday, December 8, on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, surrounded by her family.   Pat was born on November 23, 1931 to George and Faye Vogel in St. Libory, Nebraska. She was raised in the Grand Island area and graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic school in Grand Island, Nebraska.   She married William “Bill” Twehous on October 8, 1953. Throughout their marriage, Pat and Bill Twehous lived all over central Nebraska, in Colorado, Illinois, but made their home in the Big Green House on Washington Street, in Lexington, Nebraska.   Pat was a true servant of our Lord in all aspects of her life. She was faithfully devoted to her family and held true to the belief that family never ends with blood. Her door was always open and there was always a hot pot of coffee for anyone who needed it. She taught her children to always work for the good of the group and for the glory of God.   Throughout her time in Lexington, she was active in St. Anne’s Catholic Parish, recognized as their official wedding planner, event coordinator, and welcoming committee. She held official positions on the parish council, Altar Society, Legion of Mary, Cursillo, and as the Provincial Family Director for the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women (DCCW). She also held various roles throughout the Lexington community, including the Rotary Club and 4-H.   She is survived by her children, Bonnie J. Twehous Lauby of Kearney, Ronald W. Twehous of Grand Island, Vicki A. Twehous Feely of Lincoln, Richard A. (Marilyn) Twehous of Maricopa, Arizona, Shari M. (Jon) Twehous Steger of Lincoln; twelve grandchildren, Scott T. Lauby of Omaha, Robert (Bob) Feely of Brooten, Minnesota, Brett A. Lauby of Minden, Danielle L. Bliven Clouse of Central City, Mark E. Lauby of Lincoln, Josh W. Twehous of Hildreth, Maureen J. Feely Drake of Lincoln, Ryan J. Twehous of Grand Island, Haley A. Steger of Lincoln, Lane P. Twehous of Maryland, Carly E. Twehous of Los Angeles, California, and William J. Twehous of Maricopa, Arizona. She has twenty-one great-grandchildren and countless friends all over the country. She is also survived by her siblings, Wilma Vogel Reif of Dannebrog, Jean Vogel Hill of Bellevue, Jeanette Vogel Weakland of Grand Island, and Ralph Vogel of St. Libory.   Pat was preceded in death by her parents, William J. (George) and Faye (Moore) Vogel, her loving husband, William B. Twehous, her brother, Joe Vogel of Red Cloud, and beloved grandson, Thomas A. Feely, of Lincoln.   We entrust to you, God’s faithful servant, Pat Twehous.   Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, December 15, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Lexington with Reverend Matt Koperski officiating.   Burial will be in the St. Ann’s Catholic Cemetery at Lexington.   Visitation will be Thursday, December 14, 2017, from 5-7 p.m. with Wake Service to follow at 7:00 p.m. all at St. Ann’s Catholic Church.   Per Pat’s request please, in lieu of flowers, Memorials are suggested to St. Ann’s Catholic Church.   Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington is honored to be assisting the family with arrangements.
