Ollie Hazel Schoneman

Ollie Hazel Schoneman, 89, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away on Thursday, July 29, 2021 at Avamere in Lexington.

She was born on October 7, 1931, in Winnebago, Minnesota to Earl and Stella Day Todd Morgan. Ollie attended school in Winnebago and graduated with the class of 1950.

Ollie was united in marriage to Duaine W. Schoneman on November 11, 1951 in Winnebago, Minnesota. Five children were blessed to this union: Kelly, Debra, Karla, Tim and Scott. While living in Minnesota, Ollie worked for a canning company.

In 1960, the family moved to Lexington, Nebraska. Ollie stayed busy working various jobs which included, Sixth Street Food Store, Lexington Ice & Cold Storage, Maloley’s IGA, Hennek’s True Value, and Walmart.

Ollie was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Lexington.

Survivors include her children, Kelly (Kevin) Swanson of Overton, Debra (Tom) Miller of Eustis, Karla (Mike) Denker of Johnson Lake, Tim (Kim) Schoneman of Lexington and Scott (Angie) Schoneman of Holdrege; fourteen grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Shirley Morgan; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

Ollie was preceded in death her parents; husband, Duaine in 2012; four sisters and three brothers.

There will be no visitation, as the family is honoring Ollie’s wish for cremation. A Private Family Inurnment will be held in Evergreen Cemetery at Lexington.

A memorial has been established in Ollie’s honor, and kindly suggested to or donor’s choice.
