Nikolai J. Boesch of Lexington passed away at the young age of 3 on Monday, August 11, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
He was born on March 3, 2022, in Kearney, Nebraska to Nate Boesch and Patricia Lara.
Nikolai had an infectious personality and a wonderfully unique smile. His favorite color was green, a fitting representation of his vibrant spirit. He loved his Mickey Mouse blanket and his bubble gun, which filled the air with joy. Nikolai loved spending his time playing with basketballs and soccer balls, as well as fighting with his brothers. His favorite animals were cows and dinosaurs, especially Arlo from "The Good Dinosaur".
He loved to snack on grapes, cereal, and Funyuns, which were his favorite. Living life to the fullest, there was never a day when he shied away from playing outside, even when he began feeling sick. His ability to soak in the sunshine, laugh, and enjoy every moment exemplified the innocence and wonder of childhood. Nikolai had the opportunity to go to Florida for a vacation, and everyone noticed instantly how in awe he became with the ocean. He loved watching the waves and playing in the water; it became difficult to get him out! Though his time with us was all too brief, the impact he made on his family and friends will resonate through their lives forever.
Those left to cherish his memory are his parents, Nate Boesch and Patricia Lara; and his brothers, Emiliano Boesch, Mauricio Boesch, and Christopher Boesch, all of Lexington; as well as his grandparents, aunts, uncles, extended family, and friends.
