Naomi K. Boilesen

June 13, 1926 — April 16, 2018

    Naomi K. Boilesen, 91, of Minden, Nebraska, formerly of Lexington, died Monday, April 16, 2018, at Bethany Home in Minden.   Naomi was born June 13, 1926, in Cozad, Nebraska, to Anton and Nellie (Rasmussen) Jensen. Naomi’s dad died when she was 4, and the family moved to St. Paul, Minnesota for a year. They then returned to Cozad where Naomi would graduate from Cozad High School with the class of 1944. She then attended Grand View College for one year majoring in Elementary Education. She taught in a one room school north of Cozad for one year, then for one year south of Cozad.   She was united in marriage to Ralph Boilesen on June 15, 1947, at St. John’s Lutheran Church northeast of Cozad, where they were both members. Two daughters were blessed to this marriage; Pamela Kay and Debra Lynn.   Naomi would then go to work for Hennek’s for four years, and then finished her working career at Plum Creek Medical Group for the next 32 years.   The family became members of Buffalo Grove Presbyterian Church, where they joined in 1965. She was also a member of the Nebraska Society of Medical Assistants, the Red Hat Society, Friendly Neighbor’s Extension Club, and the Mariner’s Club.   She was always active; she sewed all the girls’ clothes when they were young, also, their Barbie clothes. She loved to knit, quilt, snow ski, play the organ, draw, Danish Folk dancing, Origami, and making up bedtime stories for her girls.   Naomi was a wonderful wife, mother, co-worker, and friend. She will be so very missed.   Survivors include her daughters; Pamela (Roger) Neumann of Denver, Colorado and Debra (Dan) Allen of Minden, Nebraska; four grandchildren; Jeremy (Melinda) Neumann of Sheridan, Colorado, Krissy Neumann and Mathew Berry of Centennial, Colorado, Dana (Rachelle) Rider of Greenwood, Nebraska, Spencer Allen of Minden, Nebraska; six great-grandchildren; Gabriella Sisneros of Edgewater, Colorado, Adysen, Jaxsen, Keenan Neumann, and Henrick & Gunnar Rider; as well as nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.   Naomi was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ralph in 2005; and, brother, Richard Jensen.   Burial will be held Thursday, April 19, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Fort McPherson National Cemetery at Maxwell, Nebraska.   Memorial Services will be Thursday, April 19, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Chapel in Lexington with Pastor Brent Block officiating.   Visitation will be Wednesday, April 18, 2018, from 2-4 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Funeral Chapel.   Memorials are suggested to Bethany Home, Minden, Nebraska.
