Mason Andrew Winter, 50, of Grand Island, Nebraska, passed away at his home on Wednesday, June 11, 2025.

He was born on January 7, 1975, as a twin to his sister, Melodee, in Cozad, Nebraska, to Ronald and Peggy (Newton) Winter. Mason graduated from Lexington Senior High School with the class of 1994 and attended Mid-Plains Community College in North Platte, Nebraska. He also studied business administration online. On February 22, 1997, Mason was united in marriage to Lori Davis at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church in North Platte, Nebraska. The couple was blessed with three children: Kennedyanne, Isabella, and Davis.

In September of 1997, Mason joined the military. After serving two years, he was honorably discharged in 1999. Mason worked for the Union Pacific Railroad with his family in North Platte. After his divorce, he moved and was currently living in Grand Island.

Mason was a people person. He knew everyone and was always a humorous light in every crowd. He loved business and enjoyed learning about everything. Mason loved his children more than life. Kennedyanne, Isabella, and Davis were always in every conversation. Mason's closest relationship was with his twin sister, Melodee. They talked nearly every day. He was her protector, defender, and best friend. Mason's constant companion was "Dave", his cat. Dave was with him till the end.

Survivors include his parents, Ronald Winter of Palmer, Nebraska and Peggy Newton Winter of Lexington; his children, Kennedyanne (Gabriel) Melton of North Platte, Isabella Winter and Davis Winter, both of North Platte; twin sister, Melodee Winter of Lexington; brothers, Mike (Laura) Winter of Lexington and Matthew (Lora) Winter of York; nieces and nephews, Wesley  (Samantha) Winter of Elwood, Justin (Cydney) Winter of Kearney, Alyssa Winter (Drey Smith) and their son, Beckett Smith of North Platte, and Isabella Winter of York; as well as extended family and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Melvin and Lorna Mae Winter, and Robert and Joann Newton; and one infant son, Jaden.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025, at 11:00 am. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington with Pastor Rex Adams officiating.

Inurnment will be held at the Evergreen Cemetery in Lexington following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
