Mario Prado Reyes, 25, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 4, 2024, in his home surrounded by his family.

He was born on October 1, 1998, in Lexington, Nebraska to Ramiro Prado-Ceja and Emilia Reyes de Prado. He attended public school in Lexington and graduated from Lexington High School with the class of 2017.

What truly set Mario apart was his outgoing personality and his willingness to embrace new experiences. He had an adventurous spirit and loved trying new types of food. Mario always took the opportunity to travel to Michoacan, Mexico with his family and enjoy some quality time. One of Mario's greatest joys came from spending time with his family. Whether it was gathering around a campfire during a camping trip or simply sharing precious moments at home with everyone. Mario's biggest supporter and best friend was his mom. She took great care of her son and always supported him in whatever he wanted to do. One of Mario's greatest joys was the day he became a father to Matteo. He held a special place in his heart for his son. Playing together and creating lasting memories were sources of great happiness for them both. 

Mario was deeply committed to the church and his faith was unwavering. His devotion to God guided him through the darkest hours of his battle with cancer. Throughout the four years since his diagnosis, Mario displayed remarkable strength and resilience. He never gave up hope and fought bravely. He will be greatly missed.

Those left to honor his memory are his parents, Ramiro Prado Ceja and Emilia Reyes de Prado of Lexington; brothers, Arturo (Monica) Prado-Reyes of Lexington, David (Geylin) Prado-Reyes of Kearney, and Jesus Prado-Reyes of Lexington; his son, Matteo Prado of Lexington; niece, Millie Prado-Mendez; nephews, Zlatan Arturo Prado and Rey Prado-Mendez, as well as numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Diego Reyes and Rosalina Serrano, paternal grandparents, Jose Prado and Angelina Ceja, and his older brother, Ramiro Prado Reyes.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Lexington with Father Jose Chavez, officiating.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, from 4-7 p.m. with a rosary to follow at 7 p.m. at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Lexington.

Burial will be held at St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery in Lexington.

Memorials are kindly suggested to the family for later designation.

Mario Prado Reyes, de 25 años, de Lexington, Nebraska, falleció tranquilamente el domingo 4 de febrero de 2024 en su casa rodeado de su familia.

Nació el 1 de octubre de 1998 en Lexington, Nebraska, hijo de Ramiro Prado-Ceja y Emilia Reyes de Prado. Fue a la escuela pública en Lexington y se graduó de la escuela secundaria Lexington con la clase de 2017.

Lo que realmente distinguió a Mario fue su personalidad extrovertida y su disposición a abrazar nuevas experiencias. Tenía un espíritu aventurero y le encantaba probar nuevos tipos de comida. Mario siempre aprovechó la oportunidad para viajar a Michoacán, México con su familia y disfrutarse. Una de las mayores alegrías de Mario era pasar tiempo con su familia. Ya sea reuniéndose alrededor de una fogata durante un viaje de campamento o simplemente compartiendo momentos preciosos en casa con todos.

El mayor apoyo y mejor amigo de Mario era su mamá. Ella cuidó mucho de su hijo y siempre lo apoyó en lo que quería hacer. Una de las mayores alegrías de Mario fue el día en que se convirtió en padre de Matteo. Él ocupó un lugar especial en su corazón para su hijo. Jugar juntos y crear recuerdos fueron fuentes de gran felicidad para ellos.

Mario estaba profundamente comprometido con la iglesia y su fe era inquebrantable. Su devoción a Dios lo guió a través de las horas más oscuras de su batalla contra el cáncer. A lo largo de los cuatro años transcurridos desde su diagnóstico, Mario mostró una notable fuerza y resistencia. Nunca renunció a la esperanza y luchó valientemente. Él será muy extrañado.

Los que han quedado en honor a su memoria son sus padres, Ramiro Prado Ceja y Emilia Reyes de Prado de Lexington; sus hermanos, Arturo (Mónica) Prado-Reyes de Lexington, David (Geylin) Prado-Reyes de Kearney, y Jesús Prado-Reyes de Lexington; su hijo, Matteo Prado de Lexington; su sobrina, Millie Prado-Méndez; sobrinos, Zlatan Arturo Prado y Rey Prado-Méndez, y numerosos primos, tías, tíos, familia extendida y amigos.
Le precedieron en la muerte sus abuelos maternos, Diego Reyes y Rosalina Serrano, sus abuelos paternos, José Prado y Angelina Ceja, y su hermano mayor, Ramiro Prado Reyes.

Misa de entierro cristiano se llevará a cabo el jueves, 8 de febrero de 2024, a las 10:30 a.m., en La Iglesia Católica de Santa Ana en Lexington con el Padre José Chávez, oficiando. 

La Visita se llevará a cabo el miércoles 7 de febrero de 2024, de 4-7 p.m. con un rosario a seguir a las 7 p.m. en La Iglesia Catolica de Santa Ana en Lexington. 

El entierro se llevará a cabo en el Cementerio Católico de Santa Ana en Lexington.
