Marcia Jodeen Carroll

Marcia Jodeen Carroll, 69, of Lexington, Nebraska passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2022, at CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney surrounded by her loving family and friends.

She was born on December 8, 1952, in North Platte, Nebraska to Orval and Leah (Hardin) Black. Growing up, Marcia loved spending time and working on the farm with her father. Marcia attended public schools in Tryon and graduated from Tryon High School with the class of 1971.

She was united in marriage to Larry Jean Carroll in Lexington where they made their home. Marcia worked for several years at Tenneco Monroe’s Automotive in Cozad.

Marcia was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints as well as the Garden Club and MS group. Marcia had a great love of flowers and enjoyed spending her time outdoors gardening. Her and Larry also spent a lot of their time traveling, going to various auctions and garage sales. Her favorite thing to collect were antique toys. Marcia was also a known animal lover and adored her cats.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Larry Carroll; brother, Richard Black and sisters, Joann Jennings, Joyce Wilkins, Janice Nielsen, Beth Ervar and Shelly Arensdorf.

Survivors include her daughter, Kathy (Jason) Mead and their three children; brother, Ed Black of Tryon; sisters, Susan Crapo of South Dakota and Jerry Neal; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Randy (Tootie) Carroll of Darr; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews as well as special friends and neighbors, Paul, Lauri, Monica, Kairee and Tara Liess of Lexington.

There will be no visitation, as the family is honoring Marcia’s wish for cremation. Burial will be held at a later date.

A memorial has been established in Marcia’s honor, and kindly suggested to the MS Foundation.
