Leif Paul Ostrom, 60, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away on Friday, January 3, 2025, at the Lexington Regional Health Center, after fighting a brave battle with cancer.
He was born on December 20, 1964, in Lexington, Nebraska, to John and Annette (Mann) Ostrom. He attended Lexington public schools and graduated from Lexington High School with the class of 1983. On May 6, 1989, Leif was united in marriage to Nicole DeBoer. Two daughters were blessed to this union: Brianna and Jacquelin. The couple would later part ways.
Leif was a devout member of the Parkview Baptist Church and was also the leader of Celebrate Recovery. He had given his life to Jesus and received instant peace and love and became passionate about sharing that with others. Leif cared for his family deeply and was grateful to have the opportunity to show that, especially to his daughters. He loved watching his daughters play sports and rarely missed an event they had going on. He also held a special place in his heart for his grandson and was already in love with the grandson he had on the way. Leif was known to be quite straightforward and never hesitated to let people know how he felt. He was a social guy who knew just about everyone in town. Leif was a lover of God, people and antiques. He was known for going on prayer walks to pray for anyone and everyone in need.
Those left to honor his memory are his daughters, Brianna (Samuel) Ouedraogo of Omaha, and Jacquelin (Caleb) Holbrook of Lexington; grandson, Ezekiel Ouedraogo, with another grandson on the way; siblings, Lars (Joni) Ostrom of Lexington, and Anne (John Rains) Eilers of Scottsdale, Arizona; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many, many friends.
