Larry Avon Reed

Larry A. Reed, 67, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at his home. He was born on June 26, 1951 in Ontario, California to Orvel William and Delphia Alvie (McCamey) Reed. Larry grew up in Fresno, California where he graduated from High School. He enlisted in the United State Marine Corps in 1968. Larry was honorably discharged on April 16, 1971. He then went onto further his education with vocational training. Larry was united in marriage to Susanna Rivera in July of 2002 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They lived in Fresno, California for many years before moving to Lexington in 2002. He worked at Tyson Beef Packing Plant in Maintenance for ten years. Larry was very talented at woodworking. He enjoyed building bird houses and covered wagons. He also enjoyed fishing and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. Survivors include his wife, Susanna of Lexington, Nebraska; step-children, Felipe Angeles of Fresno, California and Alexis (Arturo) Navarrete of Lexington, Nebraska; ten step-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Larry was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. at Calvary Assembly of God Church in Lexington with Pastor Rex Adams, officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 from 5-7 p.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington. Burial will be at Fort McPherson National Cemetery in Maxwell, Nebraska with Military Honors following the service. Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
