LaDonna Sue Kwiatkowski

LaDonna Sue Kwiatkowski, 73, of Overton, Nebraska, passed away on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney, after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born on July 9, 1952, in Lexington, Nebraska to Raymond and Leola (VonLoh) Fahrenbruch. The family moved to Bertrand, where she attended school, and graduated from Bertrand High School with the class of 1970. On February 10, 1973, LaDonna was united in marriage to the love of her life, Norbert Kwiatkowski in Bertrand. Two children were blessed to this union: Michelle and Randy. In 1980, the couple made their home in Overton, where they spent forty-five wonderful years together.

LaDonna was a hard worker and a go getter. She worked for Plectron, Veetronix, and Tenneco, before dedicating many years at the Dawson County Courthouse in the Register of Deeds office. She volunteered at the Bertrand Herald and after retirement, she began working at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home as the visitation receptionist. Socializing came naturally to LaDonna, so she was a perfect fit for the job. She was also a long-time member of the Village of Overton's Planning Committee. LaDonna was devout in her faith and was a staple at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Lexington, serving in several of the committees as well. Her belief in the Lord helped her endure and persevere during some of the toughest moments in her life.

In the little down time she had, LaDonna enjoyed quilting, organizing her space, and collecting. She spent many years perfecting her collections and loved going antiquing. Her and Norbert liked to play Canasta and their games would get pretty competitive. They made sure to always keep score. She also enjoyed being outside, making sure her flower garden looked perfect. LaDonna had a heart of gold, dedicating her life to her service work and always helping those around her.

Those left to honor her memory is her husband, Norbert Kwiatkowski of Overton; children, Michelle (Patrick) Skorupa of Billings, Montana, and Randy (Stacey) Kwiatkowski of Ramstein, Germany; grandchildren, Alexis of Panama City, Florida, Dakotah of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Brittney and her husband Austin of Billings, Montana; great-grandchildren, Matthew, Cody, and Danielle; as well as cousins, extended family and many, many friends.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 25, 2025, at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington, with family receiving guests from 5-7 p.m.

A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lexington with Pastor Rob Kuefner officiating. The service will be live streamed via the Trinity Lutheran Church website at tlclex.org

There will be a reception at The Well in Lexington following the service. 

Burial will be held on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Highland Cemetery in Bertrand, Nebraska.
