Kirk R.
Morris
September 23, 1953 – May 26, 2026
Kirk R. Morris, 72, of Johnson Lake, Nebraska, passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at his home.
He was born on September 23, 1953, in Cozad, Nebraska, to Robert and Lillian (Schmidt) Morris. He attended school in Cozad and graduated from Cozad High School. Kirk was an athlete, excelling in swimming, football, and horseback riding during his school years. He was later blessed with three sons: Joshua, Jason, and Michael.
Kirk loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, and gardening. When he wasn’t pursuing those pastimes, he could be found building custom homes in the Colorado Rockies, including his own home in Glen Haven, Colorado. His adventurous spirit led him to live and travel in many parts of the world later in life, and he often spoke of returning to Colorado or California, two places he especially loved. He also hoped to visit Australia again one day. Wherever he went, Kirk put his exceptional carpentry and building skills to work, creating custom homes and furniture, and helping others with projects around their homes.
Kirk was preceded in death by his father, Robert Morris.
Those left to celebrate his life are his mother, Lillian Morris of Johnson Lake; sons, Joshua (Megan) Morris of Bentonville, Arkansas, Jason Morris of the Atlanta, Georgia area, and Michael (Stacey) Morris of Northern California; grandchildren, Claire Morris, Katherine Morris, Emilia Morris, and Sophia Morris; his brother, Steve Morris of Arvada, Colorado; sister, Diane (Jeff) Haase of Norfolk; niece and nephews, Zechariah (Janessa) Zane, Stephanie (Jamie) Bates, great nephew & niece Zayden Jensen and Zoey Bates; as well as aunts, uncles, extended family, and a host of friends.
