Kevin Jaye "KJ" Turner, 68, of Overton, Nebraska, unexpectedly passed away on Friday, November 14, 2025, at CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney, Nebraska.
He was born on August 23, 1957, in Kearney, Nebraska to Harding and Helen Turner. He attended public school in Odessa and Elm Creek and graduated from Elm Creek High School with the class of 1975. Upon graduation, KJ went on to become a welder at Sperry New Holland before until they closed. He then began a lengthy and wonderful career as a truck driver until his passing. On September 16, 1978, KJ was united in marriage to Konnie Davenport in Overton, Nebraska. Two children were blessed to this union: Emmy and Tucker.
KJ loved spending his days in his truck, working and maintaining it as best as he could. He was an avid car fan and enjoyed going to car shows and always went to Cruise Night with his car buddies. Family was an incredibly important part of KJ's life, spending quality time with his wife and children and he adored being with his grandchildren. He always held a special place in his heart for his favorite pup, Moose.
Those left to honor his memory is his beloved wife, Konnie Turner of Overton; children, Emmy (Travis) Long of Overton, and Tucker Turner of Omaha; grandchildren, Kaven, Jorja, and Jessa; brother, Rick (Kim) Turner of Odessa, and Sharon Gibbons of Colorado; as well as nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.
KJ was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Ed Turner.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington with Lay Minister, Sarah Neben, officiating.
Graveside Services will be held at Overton Cemetery in Overton, following the service.
