Kenneth “Kenny” Lynn Gruntorad of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away on his 60th birthday, July 28, 2025, at the Lexington Regional Health Center after a courageous battle with cancer.
Kenny was born on July 28, 1965, in Lexington, to Henry and Karen (Anthony) Gruntorad. A graduate of Lexington High School in 1983, he spent his life working hard and building a legacy rooted in dedication and family. He began his career with Gene McElhinny Construction (1983–1985) before joining Batie Cattle Company, where he worked from 1985 until 2024.
On March 1, 1985, Kenny married the love of his life, Jamie Wiley, in Lexington. Together, they built a life full of love, laughter, and family. Kenny was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Jamie, and their three sons: Riley (Jessica) of Lexington, Ryan (Brittany) of Lincoln, and Tyler (MaChaela) of Alma.
Kenny was a proud grandfather to Carter, Baylor, Jaden, Jaxon, Bronson, and Bodee Gruntorad. He is also survived by his mother, Karen Gruntorad, niece, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Gruntorad, and his brother, Mark Gruntorad.
Kenny will be remembered as a compassionate and caring man — a true cowboy at heart. He found joy in riding motorcycles, exploring the outdoors, especially the Black Hills, and hitting the golf course. Above all, he was a family man whose strength, warmth, and humor will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington, with family present.
