Katherine Eileen Moore

Katherine Eileen Moore, 89, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away Friday, Feb. 11, 2022, at Lexington Regional Health Center in Lexington, Nebraska.

Eileen entered this world on December 4, 1932, in Callaway, Nebraska, the eldest of two daughters born to Albert and Claryce (Jay) Norbeck. She attended public schools in Callaway and later received her G.E.D. in 1998.

On April 28, 1949, she married Darrel Moore in Norton, Kansas. Seven children were born to this union.

Eileen spent most of her family life in Eddyville, Nebraska, as a homemaker, which included sewing, canning vegetables from her garden, teaching Bible School and Awanas. She was part of the Eddyville Circle and the Eddyville Extension Club. Special coffee time was spent almost daily with her Eddyville friends.

After moving to Lexington in 2006, Eileen enjoyed having “her special spot” at the Grand Generation Center for lunch and loved playing Bingo there, too. It was very important to her that she attend church every Sunday at the Methodist church.

Eileen is survived by her son, Charles Moore of Axtell; three daughters, Linda (Bob) Kroon of Longmont, Colorado, Pamela (Ron) Stryker of Eddyville, and Teresa (Ralph) Dunaway of Cozad, Nebraska; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a nephew, Donnie Miller of Hastings, Nebraska; and a cousin, Bonnie Bonczynski of Lexington.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Darrel; son, Jimmy Moore; daughter, Diana Evans; infant son, Richard Moore; and sister, Clareen (Charles) Hall.

Funeral services will be Monday, February 14, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Chapel in Lexington, Nebraska, with Pastor Nathan Rhea, officiating.

Visitation will be held from 1:00-3:00 p.m., prior to the service on Monday, February 14.

Interment will be in the Sumner Cemetery at Sumner.

There will be refreshments after the interment at the United Church of Sumner West Campus.

Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation or toward the Jimmy Moore scholarship fund at S-E-M High School.
