Joshua "Reggie" Duncan

August 10, 1959 — May 16, 2019

Joshua “Reggie” Duncan, 59, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at his home in Lexington. Joshua Reginald Duncan Jr, aka "Reggie" was born in Bronxville, New York on August 10, 1959. Reggie was the son of Deanna Duncan and Joshua Reginald Duncan Sr. Reggie had a brother, Steve Duncan and a half-sister Marion Mitchell. Reggie had four nephews, David, Daniel, Devon and Derek. Reggie also had a very large extended family. Reggie served as a Fireman in New York. Reggie also served in the United States Air Force. Reggie served as a correctional officer in Lincoln County, Nebraska. Reggie had several jobs, but after a serious injury to his hand in 1996, Reggie was primarily a truck driver until 2012. That is how he met Shannon Kluttz, an employee at a small truck stop in Lexington, Nebraska in February 1998. Reggie and Shannon were married on July 8, 1998. Shannon gave birth to her first son, Lane Michael Duncan in June 1998. Reggie adopted Lane in 2000, and was the biological father to Joshua Estephan Duncan and Elijah Abraham Duncan. Shannon and Reggie were divorced on May 28, 2008. Reggie did not remarry. Reggie lived in New York, Colorado and Nebraska, where he resided until he passed. Reggie was a die hard fan of the NY Yankees, NY Giants, and the NY Rangers. Reggie's biggest passions in life were his children and his family. Reggie loved being at his children's events and watching them grow into the amazing young men they are today. Reggie was very close to his mother and his brother. Reggie was also very involved in politics and loved to argue his views with friends and loved ones. Reggie attended church services at Parkview Baptist Church in Lexington, Nebraska. Reggie also enjoyed cooking. He made delicious fried chicken, potato salad, cheesecake and mac and cheese. He knew his chicken and mashed potatoes would never be as good as his mother, Deanna's, but his was definitely a close second. Reggie was well known by so many and made many friends in New York, Denver and Nebraska and left a lasting impression with anyone he met. He will be greatly missed. Survivors include his parents, Reggie Duncan, Sr. of Poinciana, Florida and Deanna Duncan of Schenectady, New York; his children, Lane Michael Duncan of Kearney, Nebraska, Joshua Estephan Duncan of Lexington, Nebraska and Elijah Abraham Duncan of Lexington, Nebraska; ex-wife, Shannon Reiser of Lexington, Nebraska; brother, Steve Duncan of Acworth, Georgia; sister, Marion Mitchell of Winston, Georgia; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and many friends. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Parkview Baptist Church in Lexington with Pastor John Shields, officiating. Military Honors will take place following the service outside the church. Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
