Jaroldlea "Jeri" Garton

Jaroldlea “Jeri” Garton , 77, of Callaway, Nebraska formerly of Lexington passed Monday, March 18, 2019 at the Callaway Good Life Center in Callaway. She was born July 21, 1941 in Elwood, Nebraska to Keith and Eleanor (Harm) Leggott. She attended and graduated from Elwood High School. Jeri then went on to further her education at Lincoln School of Commerce and earned a secretarial degree. On December 16, 1961 she was united to Duane Garton and from this marriage two children were born, Jodi and Jason. The family made their home in Lexington where she worked at Platte Valley Auto before staying home and raising her children. She then provided daycare for numerous children. Jeri had a one of kind personality and her humor will be greatly missed. She had a caring heart and loved helping others. Jeri was an avid Nebraska Husker football fan and loved spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include her children, Jodi (Tom) Hoesel of Callaway and Jason (Barb) Garton of Lincoln; grandchildren, Justin (Brittany) Hoesel of Callaway, Jeremy Hoesel of Callaway and Jenna (Josh) Earsom of Loomis; special family member, Cody McFadden of Lexington; great-grandchildren, Remi, Piper, Michael and Natalie. Also a host of extended family and loved ones. Jeri was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Duane; sister, Jackie; brother-in-law, Harlan Gydesen and a foster daughter, Ashlea McFadden. Celebration of Life Services will be Friday, March 22, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Chapel in Lexington with Pastor Anne Gahn, officiating. There will be no visitation. Inurnment will be at Robb Cemetery in rural Lexington, Nebraska. Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington is honored to be assisting the family with arrangements.
