Iona M. Fisher, aged 92, of Callaway, Nebraska, peacefully passed away at her home on Thursday, May 21, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on June 27, 1933, in Gothenburg, Nebraska, to John and Lily (Dovenbarger) Parkhurst, Iona grew up attending public schools in Brady. She devoted over 30 years of her career to Becton Dickinson while residing in Broken Bow, Nebraska. Later, she moved to Merna before making her home in Callaway with her granddaughter, April.

Iona had a deep love for music, especially playing the piano. She also enjoyed sewing, embroidery and was fond of watching "Days of Our Lives" during lunch hours. Above all, family was her greatest joy—she cherished spending time with her grandchildren and was truly the glue that held her family together.

She is lovingly survived by her children, William "Bill" Fisher of Pleasanton and Kay Guerrero of Minden; grandchildren Brad Fisher of Minden, April (Damon) Trotter of Callaway, Jeff Fisher of Grand Island, Amanda Fisher, Ryan Fisher, and Skyler (Hannah) Guerrero of Kearney; as well as great-grandchildren Merissa, Natalie, Tasa, Elijah, Dylanger, Destiny, Alexander, Easton, Axl, Sadie, Monroe, and Odin. She is also remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Iona was preceded in death by her parents; two infant children; her son, Donald; two grandsons, Freddie and Austin; sisters Leona, Della, Doris, and Leota; and brother Dean.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Timm-Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Callaway, with Ken Pitkin officiating.
