Ila F. Yung, 93, formerly of Lexington, passed away on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Bailey Pointe Assisted Living at Van Dorn in Lincoln, Nebraska, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on September 9, 1931, in Inavale, Nebraska, to Otto and Elsie (Lambrecht) Skjelver, the youngest of four girls. She attended school at District 66 and graduated from Red Cloud High School with the class of 1949. On December 28, 1950, Ila was united in marriage to the love of her life, Dale Yung in Red Cloud, Nebraska. The couple were blessed with three children: Pam, Mark, and Cindy. The family would later make their home in Lexington in 1965.
Over the years, Ila worked at various jobs. She worked for the Museum of the State Historical Society in Lincoln as a secretary while her husband was receiving his Masters, before moving on, dedicating seven years at the Roseland Nebraska School as their secretary. Once the couple moved to Lexington, Ila worked for Plum Creek Medical Group as their receptionist for ten years. She then went on to work for the Universal Surety Insurance Company alongside her husband.
Ila was a member of the First United Methodist Church where she enjoyed being a part of the church circle. During her free time, Ila enjoyed showing off her creative side with her sewing, knitting, and quilting. She could spend hours reading and working on her crossword puzzles.
Survivors include her children, Mark (Pat) Yung of Lincoln, Pam (Dan) Eutsler of Sumner, and Cindy Yung of Lincoln; grandchildren, Mandy (Bill) Unterbrink of Starke, Florida, Jeremy (Jenifer) Eutsler of Sumner, Shawn (Christina) Eutsler of Shelton, Heidi (Todd) Kellerman of Lincoln, Jill (Jim) Kleppinger of Lincoln, Chris Schweitzer of Lincoln, and Nic Schweitzer of Lincoln; eight great-grandchildren; as well as extended family and friends.
Besides her parents, Ila was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Yung; and three sisters, Bonnie Wilson, Doris Padovan, and Eloise Sanford.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Chapel in Lexington with Lay Minister, Sarah Neben, officiating.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services on Thursday, September 11, 2025.
Graveside Services will be held at Greenwood Cemetery following the funeral service.
