Harvey Jorgensen, 89, of Beaver City, Nebraska, formerly of Lexington, died on November 1, 2025, at the Beaver City Manor. 

He was born April 23, 1936. He was born and raised on a farm north of Curtis to Richard and Mabel (Hecht) Jorgensen. Harvey attended rural school near the farm home, and graduated from high school at the Nebraska School of Agriculture in Curtis in 1953. Then earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture in 1957 from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, Nebraska. Harvey was a member of Alpha Gamma Rho agriculture fraternity. While in college he served as president of the Block and Bridle Club and president of the University 4-H Club. 

Harvey was united in marriage to Gayle Pohlman of Stanton, Nebraska on August 12, 1956, before his senior year of college. He accepted a job as Assistant County Agent of Platte County in Columbus, Nebraska for one year. Then spent over four years as County Agriculture Agent of Custer County living in Broken Bow, Nebraska. 

After the unexpected death of his father, he moved to the family farm north of Curtis in 1962. Harvey farmed the irrigated and dry land farm until 1990. Upon retiring from farming, he worked as a Production Agronomist for Arrow Seed Company in Broken Bow for the next 15 years. Following his retirement from Arrow Seed he kept active with several part-time jobs.

 Harvey loved the Lord and everywhere he lived he was an active church member. He was a charter member of the Faith Fellowship Church (now the Curtis Vineyard Church) and served as a deacon and small group bible study leader at Parkview Baptist Church in Lexington, Nebraska.

He is survived by four daughters: Kris (Randy) Lienemann of Loomis, Nebraska; Susan (Randy) Hatler of Tollhouse, California; Jayne Hasty of Holdrege, Nebraska; Julee (Charles) Colburn of Canton, Kansas; one son: Grant Jorgensen of Beaver City, Nebraska; one sister in law: Marty Jorgensen of North Platte, Nebraska; two grandsons: Erik Lienemann and Nolan Hasty, nine granddaughters: Kari (Kirtis) Harris, Michele (Rich) Sullivan, Melinda Hatler, Jessica (Marc) Johnson, Katie Colburn, Elizabeth Jorgensen, Aundrea Jorgensen, Grayce (Trevor) Ginkens, Kassandra (Jake) Jorgensen, three great grandsons, Jarod (Miranda) Harris, Hadly and Ryerson Genkins, and three great granddaughters Krystyn Harris, Olivia Lienemann, and Meredith Hasty and four special friends: George and Lori Fong, Audrey Cover, and Janis Martins-Nutt.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Mabel Jorgensen, the love of his life Gayle (Pohlman) Jorgensen, an infant sister Elaine, brother Kenneth Jorgensen, son in law Jeff Hasty, and three grandsons, Ryan Lienemann, Drew Jorgensen, and Kyle Colburn.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Parkview Baptist Church in Lexington with Pastor Keith Strasburger officiating. A meal will follow after the service.

Inurnment will be held following the meal at Curtis Cemetery in Curtis, Nebraska, at 2:00 p.m.
