Harold K Russell

December 23, 1960 — May 29, 2025

Lexington

Harold K. Russell, 64, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at the CHI Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, surrounded by his family.

He was born on December 23, 1960, in Troy, Missouri, to Raymond and Helen (Freeman) Russell. He attended school in Kingman, Arizona and attended Kingman High School. He received his GED in 1984. Harold was united in marriage to Charlotte Peterson on May 18, 2000, in Iowa.

Harold lived in many places including Iowa and Arizona before making his home in Lexington. He was a welder for many years before working for the Iowa Premium Packing Plant in Tama, Iowa. Once that location shut down, he transferred to Lexington where he dedicated over 20 years at Tyson in the refrigeration department as well as being a PSM coordinator before his health required him to retire early.

Harold was known to his loved ones as an honorable man with an adoration for motorcycles. If you saw a bright green Harley on the road, you knew it had to be Harold. He was incredibly generous and would give you the shirt off of his back if you asked him. Harold had three things in his life he truly cared for: his beloved pets, his brothers, and his family; especially his grandchildren. Harold was a longtime member of the Tribesman MC and cared for his brothers deeply.

Those left to honor his memory are his loving wife, Charlotte Russell of Lexington; children, Gary Behaunek of Lexington, Billie Garcia of Lexington, James (Shauna) Myrick of Kingman, Arizona, Rachelle (David) Rogers of Waddell, Arizona, Charlie (Beverly) Russell of Cozad, Shantel Hancock of Cozad, and Darien Hancock of Cozad; 17 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; siblings, Mike Wimpey of Lexington, and Mary Mason of Illinois; as well as extended family and many friends.

Harold was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Russell.
