Harold Wilson Prosser, 102, of Picayune, Mississippi, formerly of Lexington, Nebraska, peacefully passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at Elwood Care Center, surrounded by his loving family.

Harold was born on November 20, 1923, in Leota, Kansas, to Victor and Lulu (Smith) Prosser. The family later moved to Towner, Colorado, where Harold graduated from high school. Following graduation, he attended the Denver University Drafting School and worked as an aircraft draftsman in San Diego. Soon after, he joined the United States Army Air Forces, proudly serving his country.

On June 15, 1948, Harold married the love of his life, Shirley Parker, in Lexington, Nebraska.

After his discharge from the military, Harold began a long and successful career as a businessman. In 1956, he and Shirley moved to Lexington to manage Carr Farm and cattle operations, helping transform it into a thriving feedlot. Harold later developed HW Prosser Co., backgrounding cattle he sold in Omaha until Cornland Dressed Beef was established, where he became an original stockholder. He also participated in numerous fencing, tree planting, and signage projects during the original construction of Interstate 80.

Harold and Shirley shared a love for racehorses, which eventually drew them to Mississippi, where they built the beautiful Tierra Lago Estates subdivision. Harold especially loved spending time fishing at the lake properties he built in both Nebraska and Mississippi. Together, Harold and Shirley enjoyed traveling to destinations including Egypt, South America, the Gulf Coast casinos, and especially back to Nebraska to spend time with their beloved grandchildren.

Following Shirley’s passing, Harold found companionship with Shirley Love, who shared his passion for travel and the Gulf Coast. They spent many happy years together until April, when Harold returned to Lexington.

Harold is survived by his daughter, Shawn (Jerry) Riley; granddaughters Stacy (Chris) Harris, Shavon (Joe) Villalon, and Sharon (Ben) Moler; great-grandchildren Jerrica, Anthony, Calla, Hunter, Shirley, Amberly, Dominek, Zailey, Troubadour, Jurnee, and Maizey; along with numerous great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his special friend, Shirley Love, and her daughters, Susan Sartwell, Sandy Thompson, and Sherry Baker-Love.

Those waiting to welcome him to Heaven were his wife, Shirley; his son, Mark; and his five brothers and sisters.

A Funeral Service with Military Honors will be held on Friday, May 22, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington, with Pastor Aaron Witt, officiating. The service will be livestreamed via the Reynolds-Love Funeral Home Facebook page.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Inurnment will take place at a later date in Picayune, Mississippi, where Harold will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife and son.

Memorials are kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
