George Luckett Allen, 90, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at Ridgeway Senior Living in Lexington, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on September 12, 1935, in Lexington, Nebraska, to George Leslie and Jennie (Luckett) Allen. He attended school in Lexington and graduated from Lexington High School with the Class of 1953. On June 29, 1958, George was united in marriage to Joan Bauer in Seward, Nebraska. Four children were born to this union: Leslie, Jodi, Mark, and Patti.

In his younger years, George participated in 4-H and later became a 4-H leader. A lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church, George, along with Joan, served as a deacon and faithfully delivered Meals on Wheels to members of the community.

George dedicated his life to farming and ranching. Long before GPS technology became commonplace, his straight corn rows and weed-free soybean fields reflected the pride and care he took in his work. He also raised sheep and Red Angus cattle.

Family was at the center of George's life. He instilled a strong work ethic in his children through the endless tasks of farm life. He held a special place in his heart for his grandchildren and visits to the farm with "Grampy" became treasured memories filled with adventure. George also enjoyed board games and playing cards. The kitchen table, worn smooth from years of nightly domino games with Joan, stood as a quiet testament to the life they shared together.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Joan Allen of Lexington; his children, Jodi (Scott) Hultquist of Silverdale, Washington, Mark (Michelle) Allen of Lexington, and Patti (Mike) Maguire of Lexington; his grandchildren, Travis Hultquist, Abby (Spencer) Hansen, Emma Hultquist, Jenna (Bryan) Fast, Micala (Jaron) Dempcy, Rose (Spencer Mullins) Allen, Zoie Allen, Max (Malyssa) Maguire, and Elliot Maguire; 11 great-grandchildren; as well as extended family and many friends.

In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his son, Leslie Allen; his brother and sister-in-law, Charles (Miriam) Allen; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Robert (Beryl) Bauer; and his nephew, Steve Bauer.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, August 10, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Lexington, with Reverend Eddie Mariel officiating. The service will be livestreamed via the First Presbyterian Church website.

A luncheon will follow in the First Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall.

A private family graveside service will be held prior to the memorial service at Greenwood Cemetery in Lexington.
