Gary L Vollmer

Gary L. Vollmer, 80, of Cozad, passed away on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at the Kearney Regional Medical Center in Kearney.

He was born on June 8, 1945, in Sumner, Nebraska to Virgil and Bernice (Wempen) Vollmer. On May 14, 1982, Gary was united in marriage to Judy Pflaster in Lexington, Nebraska. Gary dedicated over 35 years working as a welder for Orthman's.  During his down time, Gary enjoyed being outdoors, and was an avid hunter and fisherman. 

Survivors include his beloved wife, Judy Vollmer of Cozad; children, Jamie (Sandy) Vollmer of Overton, and Sandy (Eddie) Boyle of Phillipsburg, Kansas; grandchildren, Lucas, Jami Ann, Cameron, Tyson, Trevor, Josh, Paige, and Jesse; sister, Vonnie (Dale) Martins of Elm Creek; as well as extended family and friends.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Bernice Vollmer.

A time for sharing with friends and family will be held on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington with family receiving guests from 5-7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
