Gale Anderson, age 70, of Lexington, Nebraska, peacefully passed away after battling lung cancer but unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, May 16, 2026.

Born on October 10, 1955, in Lexington, Gale was the son of Nyle and Alberta (Chapman) Anderson. He grew up in Lexington, attending public schools and graduating with the class of 1973 from Lexington High School. During his youth, Gale enjoyed spending his early years working alongside his father in construction, a passion that remained close to his heart.

On October 24, 1976, Gale married Patti Erickson in Lexington. Together, they were blessed with three daughters: Kelli, Angela, and Billi Jo. The family made their home in Lexington, where Gale built a distinguished career. He initially worked for Darr Pack, followed by positions at Excel and Fasse’s, before settling at Nebraska By-Products—now Darling International—where he advanced to become Supervisor over Maintenance. Gale retired from Darling in 2019.

An avid outdoorsman, Gale cherished hunting, fishing, and spending time with his beloved dogs, Candy and Opey. Above all, family was of great importance to him, and he treasured moments shared with his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Gale was also a member of the Nebraska Walleye Association.

Gale is lovingly remembered by his daughters: Kelli Vohland of Lincoln, Angela Peck of Kearney, and Billi Jo Anderson of Lexington; his eight grandchildren: Levi Haines of Cozad, Dakota Haines of Lexington, Cynch Louthan of Bruning, Lexi Vohland of Lincoln, Owen Waha of Charlevoix, Michigan, Patti Louthan of Lexington, Delaney Vohland of Lincoln, and Zoey Peck of Kearney; his great-granddaughter Hazel Haines of Alda; his brother, Kenneth Anderson of Cozad; and his sister, Gailene (Neil) Benson of Kearney. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Patti; sisters, Darlene Anderson and Ilene Holbrook; and sister-in-law, Barbara Anderson.
