Frank Edwin Sherman, 85, of Kearney, Nebraska, formerly of Overton, passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney.
He was born on March 7, 1940, in Lexington, Nebraska to Clarence J. and Eva R. (Luckinbill) Sherman. Frank attended East District 12 in rural Overton. He graduated from Elm Creek High School in 1958 and worked various jobs in the area while farming. He was united in marriage to RoseMary O'Brien on January 6, 1968, in Shelton, Nebraska, making their home in the rural Overton area. Frank was a grain farmer and raised hogs. He later retired from farming and pursued other various job trades. After the death of RoseMary on May 9, 2009, he moved to Kearney. He was active in his church, volunteering for over 10 years at the Good Samaritan Hospital and helping at the food bank.
He later met Carol Rowedder of Kearney, and they married on March 6, 2016. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed telling stories of his life experiences. Fishing was a favorite pastime as well as feeding his squirrels and helping Steve at harvest. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. The only stranger he knew was a person he hadn't talked to.
