Florencio Raul Sanchez

February 23, 1946 — April 8, 2020

Florencio Raul Sanchez, 74, of Lexington, Nebraska passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2020 at Lexington Regional Health Center.

He was born on February 23, 1946 to Jose Merced and Cecilia (Garcia) Sanchez in Sombrerete, Zacatecas, Mexico. Raul graduated from Colegio Maria Moreno. While living in Mexico he worked as an accountant for a Fabrication Company for ten years.

Raul was united in marriage on January 10, 1969 to Ninfa Rodriguez in Santiago, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. Four boys were blessed to this union: Raul, Jose, Juan, and Rolando. In 1975, the family moved to Brownsville, Texas before moving to Nebraska in 1990. In 1995, they moved to Lexington and Raul started working for (IBP) now called Tyson Beef Packing Plant until his retirement.

Those who knew Raul can attest to his love for the outdoors; he loved fishing and hunting. He loved to have barbeques and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a very good dancer, especially dancing huapangos. Raul didn’t miss many mornings where he would be listening and watching the news. He will never be forgotten, and greatly missed.

Raul leaves to celebrate his life; his wife, Ninfa of Lexington; his boys, Raul (Rosa) Sanchez of Grand Island, Jose M. (Laura) Sanchez of San Antonia, Texas, Juan G. (Bobbette) Sanchez of Lexington and Rolando (Amalia) Sanchez of Brownsville, Texas; two sisters, Maria Guadalupe of Brownsville, Texas and Flor De Maria (Jose Manuel Ramierz) of Mata Moros, Taps., Mexico; twelve grandchildren and one great-grandchild; also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Maria De La Luz Sanchez and brother-in-law, Jose Molina.
