Elmer Ramon Lopez,69 años, de Lexington, Nebraska, falleció el miércoles 22 de marzo de 2023 en su casa rodeado de su amada familia.
Elmer nació el 10 de julio de 1953 en San Marcos, Guatemala, hijo de Ramon y Mercedes Lopez. Creció en Guatemala y emigró a los Estados Unidos en 1983, donde quería proporcionar y dar a su familia una vida mejor y oportunidades.
Se unió en matrimonio con Margarita Tejada y cinco hijos fueron bendecidos a esta unión: Elmer, Lily, Ingrid, Rosa y Eric. La familia estableció su hogar en Los Ángeles, California, antes de mudarse a Lexington, Nebraska en 1997. En 1998, Elmer comenzó a trabajar para Tyson Beef Packing Plant y trabajaba en matanza hasta 2019, cuando su salud lo obligó a retirarse.
Elmer era un hombre de familia. Le encantaba tener reuniones para poder pasar tiempo de calidad con sus hijos y nietos; bailando y pasándolo bien. Fue un pilar en la vida de su familia y los mantuvo a todos unidos. Elmer se aseguró de hacer que su familia se sintiera amada y nunca olvidó un solo cumpleaños o aniversario. También era un hombre de gran fe. Era un miembro devoto de la Iglesia Católica de Santa Ana en Lexington. Cuando no estaba ocupado, disfrutaba pasar sus días fuera en la jardinería y salir de paseo con su amada esposa.
Los que quedan para celebrar su vida son su esposa Margarita Lopez de Lexington; sus hijos, Elmer (Flora) Lopez, Lily (Ruperto) Lopez, Ingrid (Omar) Lopez, Rosa (Jesse Naputi) Lopez y Erik (Sandy) Lopez, todos de Lexington, catorce nietos y cinco bisnietos, muchos hermanos, hermanas, sobrinas, sobrinos, familiares y muchos amigos.
Además de sus padres, le precede en la muerte su nieta, Jasmine Lopez.
El velorio sera el martes 28 de marzo de 2023, de 5 a 7 p.m. en la Iglesia Católica de Santa Ana en Lexington con un Rosario a las 7 p.m.
La Misa de Entierro Cristiano sera el miércoles 29 de marzo de 2023 a las 2:00 p.m. en la Iglesia Católica de Santa Ana en Lexington con el Padre Jose Chavez, oficiando. La misa se transmitirá en vivo a través de la página de Facebook de Reynolds-Love Funeral Home.
El entierro sera en el Cementerio Evergreen en Lexington.

Elmer Ramon Lopez, 69, of Lexington, Nebraska passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Elmer was born on July 10, 1953, in San Marcos, Guatemala to Ramon and Mercedes Lopez. He grew up in Guatemala and immigrated to the United States in 1983, where he wanted to provide and give his family a better life and opportunity.
He was united in marriage to Margarita Tejada and five children were blessed to this union: Elmer, Lily, Ingrid, Rosa and Eric. The family made their home in Los Angeles, California before moving to Lexington, Nebraska in 1997. In 1998, Elmer started working for Tyson Beef Packing Plant and would work in Slaughter until 2019 when his health forced him to retire.
Elmer was a family man. He loved having get togethers often so he could spend quality time with his children and grandchildren; dancing and having a great time. He was a pillar in his family’s life and kept them all united. Elmer made sure to make his family feel loved and never forgot a single birthday or anniversary. He was also a man of great faith. He was a devout member of the St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Lexington. When he wasn’t busy, he often enjoyed spending his days outside gardening and going on walks with his loving wife.
Those left to celebrate his life is his wife Margarita Lopez of Lexington; his children, Elmer (Flora) Lopez, Lily (Ruperto) Lopez, Ingrid (Omar) Lopez, Rosa (Jesse Naputi) Lopez, and Erik (Sandy) Lopez all of Lexington, fourteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren, as well as many brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.
Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Jasmine Lopez.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, from 5-7 p.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Lexington with a Rosary to follow at 7 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Lexington with Father Jose Chavez, officiating. The Mass will be live-streamed via the Reynolds-Love Funeral Home Facebook page.
Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Lexington.
Memorials are kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
