Edward Roebuck, 81, of Johnson Lake, Nebraska, passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2019, at Lexington Regional Health Center. He was born on August 17, 1937, in Fullerton, Nebraska, to John and Sophie (Kula) Roebuck. Ed attended school at St. Anthony’s in Columbus. On January 25, 1955, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War. He was Honorably Discharged in December of 1962. He married Connie Louis and three children were born to this union: John, Eric and Linda. Ed was a mechanic with the Ford Company and while employed at the HP Smith Ford Company, he met Marilyn Menke. They were married on Sept. 6, 1974 in Omaha. Three children were blessed to this union: Robin, Daniel, and Lorie. Ed enjoyed fishing, he loved to garden and was very mechanical. He and Marilyn have lived at the lake for 24 years where Ed served as the Director for the Perch Bay addition. Survivors include his wife: Marilyn of Johnson Lake, three sons: John (Linda) Roebuck, Eric (Laura) Roebuck, and Daniel (Kathleen) Roebuck, all of Columbus; three daughters: Linda Kush of Genoa, Robin (Joe) Malfait of Omaha, and Lorie (Ben) Heinisch of Lincoln; 18 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and a sister, Deloris (Bob) Hobbs of Locust Grove, Virginia; as well as his beloved dog, Woofie. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Alvin and Leonard. Ed’s wishes were to be cremated. Inurnment with Military Honors will be held Friday, May 24, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Bonaventure Catholic Cemetery in Columbus.
