Edward L. Dory, 72, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at Lexington Regional Health Center. Ed was born December 28, 1945 in Gordon, Nebraska to Allan W. and Sarah L. (Reed) Dory. Ed’s mother died when he was young and he was raised by his older sister, Daisy. He attended high school in Moses Lake High school in Moses Lake, Washington, graduating in 1965. After high school he attended Big Bend Community College. Ed then began to serve his country in the Unites States Navy. He served on the USS Carpenter, USS White Plains and the USS Leahy. Ed was united in marriage to Martha J. Naprstek on December 15, 1973 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Lexington. Ed and Martha lived in San Diego and in Japan until Ed was honorably discharged and they returned to Lexington. While living in Lexington Ed was employed by Orthman Manufacturing, Sperry New Holland and Nebraska By products. Ed was a member of The American Legion, Trinity Lutheran Church and was an avid golfer at Lakeside Country Club. Ed is survived by; his wife Martha of Lexington, three sisters, Barbara Drake of Bossier City, Louisiana, Daisy Sharp of Moses Lake, Washington and Edna Noyes of Nevada. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Ed was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother and a brother Jim. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 30, 2018, 2:00 p.m. at the Fort McPherson National Cemetery at Maxwell, Nebraska with Pastor Bill Ohlmann, officiating. There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to the Dawson County Hero’s Flight or The St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington is assisting the family with arrangements.
