Donna Faye Bennett

Donna Faye Bennett, 86, formerly of Lexington and Overton, Nebraska, passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2019 at Quality Senior Center in Broken Bow, Nebraska. She was born August 25, 1932 in Rural Dawson County to George D. and Helen (Standford) Hughbanks. Donna grew up and attended school in Lexington. Donna was united in marriage to Robert D. Bennett on July 17, 1951 in Lexington. Three children were blessed to this union: Starla, Dallas and Eddie. They would later divorce. Donna was a homemaker and raised her three children. She lived in Lexington until 1993 when she made her home in Overton. When her health started to decline she moved to Elwood before moving to Broken Bow where she resided until her passing. Donna’s nickname was “Rosebud”. She enjoyed crocheting, watching westerns, dancing, collecting antiques, going to garage sales and junk jaunts. She was also a very good cook and you never left her home hungry. Donna loved spending time with her family, which was very important to her. She will be greatly missed. Survivors include her children, Starla (John) Corder of Lexington, Nebraska, Dallas Bennett of Lexington, Nebraska and Eddie (Nancy) Bennett of Overton, Nebraska; nine grandchildren, Terry, Brian, Amanda, Jessica, Harley, Tia, Denny, Autumn and Donna; seven great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Evelyn Path of Casper, Wyoming; as well as nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert; twin brother, Dallas George; numerous aunts and uncles. Funeral Services will be on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Chapel in Lexington with Pastor Rex Adams, officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 22, 2019 from 5-7 p.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery at Lexington.
