David Eston Converse, 76, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney.

He was born on July 12, 1949, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, to Jack and Dorothy (Sherman) Converse. He attended school in Mitchell, Nebraska, and graduated from Mitchell High School with the class of 1967. David dedicated many years to farming and working as a utility locater, as well as helping his brother with construction jobs after work; hard work was not unknown to David. Being a farmer meant a lot to him, and he enjoyed spending his days with the cattle and other animals he cared for. In 2020, David moved back to the Lexington area to be closer to his boys.

Those left to honor his memory are his sons, David (Shelly) Converse, Mike (Kristie) Converse, Kevin (Mandy) Converse, all of Lexington, Cory Converse of Colorado and Dallas Converse of Kansas; grandchildren, Justin (Jynai)Converse of Gothenburg, Mindy Douglas of Seward, Sabrina (Alex) Collins of Kalispell, Montana, Noah (Carly) Converse, Garrett Converse, Levi Converse, Zachary Converse, Parrhesia Converse, Kaylee Converse, and Isaac Converse, all of Lexington, Dorothy Converse, and Jackson Converse; great-grandchildren, Trayven, Brooklyn, Zaden, Braxton, and Everleigh; siblings, Daryl (Patricia) Converse of Mitchell, Nebraska, and Jeanette (Larry) Coombes of Gering, Nebraska; as well as extended family and friends.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Dorothy Converse and his brothers, Dean and Dan Converse.

The family is honoring David's wishes of cremation, and no services will take place.
