Darlene Lois Trautman, 95, of Johnson Lake, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at the Lexington Regional Health Center.

She was born on December 29, 1930, in Smithfield, Nebraska, to Claude and Hilda (Renken) Blevins. She grew up in rural Lexington and later graduated from Lexington High School with the class of 1948. She also apprenticed for a while as a beautician. On August 29, 1951, Darlene was united in marriage to Eugene C. Hennek in Lexington. Six children were blessed to this union: Rod, Tom, Kris, Jayne, Patty, and Mary. The couple lived in Lincoln and Omaha for several years until returning to Lexington in 1954 until Eugene's passing. Darlene found love once again and was later united in marriage to Dwight Trautman on March 9, 1996. The couple later made their home at Johnson Lake.

Darlene was very active in her community and was a member of several organizations. She was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church as well as St. Ann's Alter Society, PEO and Lakeside Golf. Darlene also served as president for the Soroptimists, Mrs. Jaycee's and was one of the first women to serve on the Lexington School Board during the 70's. When she had some time to relax, you would often find her golfing, playing cards or bridge with her friends, or traveling to visit her children and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Rod (Lynne) Hennek of Atlanta, Georgia, Tom Hennek of Pawtuckett, Rhode Island, Jayne Meyer of Kearney, Patty (Mike) Mandelko of Lexington, and Mary (Scott) Hofferber of Tucson, Arizona; 16 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild on the way; son-in-law, Randy Strohmyer of Burwell, Nebraska; sister-in-law, Maryann Blevins of Greeley, Colorado; as well as numerous extended family and friends.

Aside from her parents, Darlene was preceded in death by her two husbands, Eugene Hennek and Dwight Trautman; daughter, Kris Strohmyer; sister, Norma Decker; brothers, Claude Blevins, Jr., and Ray Blevins; son-in-law, Mark Meyer.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 5, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Lexington with Father Jose Chavez officiating. The service will be livestreamed via the Reynolds-Love Funeral Home Facebook Page.
