Constance (Connie) Ann Weides passed away peacefully on December 30, 2025, at Bergen Mercy Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska, surrounded by her loving family after a year of illness. Her faith was a steady source of strength throughout her life. In her final moments, she was quietly reciting the Rosary.

Connie was born on December 2, 1949, raised on a farm north of Schuyler, Nebraska, by Lorna and Joseph Faltys to a family of 12 children. She was raised with deep-rooted values of faith, family, and hard work; principles that guided her throughout her life. She attended college in Hastings, where she met Steve Weides, the man who would become her husband of 54 years. Following their marriage, they returned to the farm in Lexington, NE, where they built a life grounded in devotion to one another, their family, and their community.

Connie trained and worked as a beautician, a role well-suited to her caring spirit and attention to detail. She was creative by nature and found joy in many pursuits throughout her life, from woodworking to crafting beautiful flower sprays. She treasured time spent with friends as eluded by her numerous community involvements. She was an active participant in the ladies’ luncheon group, a regular attendee of a local girlfriend coffee group, and a familiar face at Kirk’s Restaurant, where she regularly gathered for breakfast every Sunday after Mass. She belonged to a monthly card club group for over 40 years and was active in the hospital Auxiliary Club and St Ann’s Parish as a Eucharistic Minister. She was also the manager and familiar face that greeted numerous patrons at the Lexington Wellness Center.

Her greatest happiness came from her family. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and an adoring grandmother who took great pride in each of her grandchildren. She thoroughly enjoyed watching them play sports and dance and cherished time spent together at the family cabin at Johnson Lake. There, she delighted in watching the grandchildren swim and ride jet skis, and most of all, listening to them sing and play guitar around the fire. One of the sights she found most beautiful besides the sweeping view of the farm she loved so dearly, was watching eagles soar over the lake during the winter months.

Connie will be remembered for her quiet strength, gentle presence, and unwavering faith. She was a dedicated and supportive wife, a nurturing and committed mother, a loving grandmother, a cherished sister, and a gracious and steady presence within her community.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lorna and Joseph Faltys of Schuyler, her infant brother, Mark, in-laws Lawrence and Ruth Weides of Lexington, and brother in-law Paul Weides of Denver.

Those left to honor and cherish her memory include her husband, Steve of Lexington; son Andrew of Holdrege, his wife Amy (Lorna, Nick, Ann and James); son Adam of Overton, his partner Jennie Turner (Ava, Mercy, Jazlyn, Karlye, and Trey); and daughter Sarah Moore of Omaha, her husband Kris (Lilian and Lucas). She is also survived by her brothers and sisters MaryKay (Norman), Joe (Suzi), Carolyn (Larry), Susan (LeRoy), Maggie (Terry), Verna, Tom (Liz), Bob (Ellen), Julie (Mike), and Lee (Vicki). Additionally, she is survived by 118 Faltys nieces and nephews along with numerous other family and friends.
