Charles Maze Myers went to be with his lord on April 4, 2026, surrounded by his family, at the age of 101 years and 17 days. He was born on March 19, 1925 to Troy and Ruth (Maze) Myers at Callaway. He spent his entire life around Callaway. He graduated from Callaway High School in 1942. He farmed with his Dad and brother, Bob.

On June 3, 1951 he was united in marriage to Donna Snyder, daughter of Claude and Irene Snyder. They farmed and worked for his brother-in-law, Foster Smith. Two boys and two girls were born to this union. Chuck drove a school bus for the public schools for several years. Chuck and Donna also had a Grade B dairy. In 1973 they purchased the Loup Valley Queen, a printing shop, that did livestock sale catalogs and commercial printing. They moved into Callaway in 1974. He was on several boards, both church and village. Chuck was on the Callaway Village board, was Mayor for 16 years, Chairman of the Callaway Manor board and on the Callaway Good Life Center board. They sold the printing business in 1989 and he began a 20-year part-time job with Co-Op fertilizer. He enjoyed driving trucks and visiting with customers. Chuck and Donna enjoyed attending sporting events of their children. They traveled several years to Chadron to attend football, volleyball and softball games. For eight years they spent two months during the winter at Port Arkansas, Texas in their fifth wheel. They loved to camp especially with family and friends. They enjoyed riding the motorcycle on several trips, especially with a group of friends. Chuck also rode to both coasts and a trip to Alaska with his son, Terry. They moved back to the farm in 2008 and in 2011 he retired from Co-Op after developing macular degeneration.

After accepting Jesus as his Lord and Savior, he was a 90 year member of the Callaway United Methodist Church. He held many offices in the church, sang in the choir and sang for many weddings and funerals with his brother, Bob. He always tried to do what was right in God's eyes.

His two accomplishments that he was proud of were, the building of the Grand Generation Manor and riding his motorcycle to both coasts and to Alaska.

Chuck and Donna would have celebrated 75 years of marriage in June of this year. He enjoyed family gatherings, his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Donna; children, Terry of Dayton, Wyoming, Larry (Teresa) of Holdrege, Sheryl (Kent) Levi of Scottsdale, Arizona and Karol (Dave) Young of Thedford. He has 13 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
