Carl Broman, 85, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Plum Creek Healthcare Community. He was born August 20, 1933 in Goodrich, Texas to Carl Melvin “Charley” and Sarah Elda Elizabeth (Cumings) Broman. He attended school in Goodrich, Texas before moving to Phelps County, Nebraska. He then attended rural schools in Phelps County and Elm Creek High School. Carl lived the majority of his life in Phelps and Gosper County. He lived in Smithfield, Nebraska from 1979 until 2015 before moving to Wel-Cov Assisted living Lexington when his health started to deteriorate. He enjoyed working as a farm hand for many different farmers throughout the years. Carl also had a small acreage where he had his own herd of sheep. Carl was an avid coin collector. He enjoyed gardening and hunting, especially pheasants. Carl was a kind man and always a gentleman. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Survivors include his brothers, Arthur Andrew (Marge) Broman of Holdrege, Nebraska and Melvin Walter Broman and (Lois Thomsen) of Fairbury, Nebraska; sister, Mary Williams of Johnson Lake, Nebraska; also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. Carl was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Ellen Johnson; brother-in-law, Bill Williams; niece, Brenda Stapaules and nephew, Clyde Johnson. A Graveside Service will be held Saturday, May 25, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Moses Hill Cemetery near Loomis with Pastor Anne Gahn, officiating. Visitation will be on Saturday, May 25, 2019 from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington. Memorials are suggested to the Donor’s Choice.
