Betty Lou Hoobler

Betty Lou Hoobler, 72, of Fordsville, Kentucky, formerly of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Fordsville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Betty Lou (Gehrman) Hoobler was born August 20, 1946, to Earl and Eulah (Baily) Gehrman at Anselmo, NE. She attended school in Broken Bow, NE and moved with her mother and step-father to Cozad. Betty attended school through the 10th grade. As a high school student she was affected with cancer. Treatment of the cancer left her somewhat handicapped for the rest of her life. On April 16, 1970 Betty was blessed with a daughter Brenda and Aug 13, 1974 was blessed again with a son Frank. Betty married Eldon John Hoobler on March 14, 1985. She and John spent many happy years together until John died on March 1, 2007. John and Betty lived in Cozad until they moved to Lexington where they enjoyed spending time at the Senior Center. After John’s death Betty moved to Clarkson, Kentucky to be near her sister, Linda. After Linda’s death Betty’s health deteriorated she moved to the Fordsville Nursing Center. Betty was always a very friendly person and loved being with family for the holidays. One could always count on her to bring something special for the dinner. Betty and John enjoyed short drives in their car, shopping, or just sight- seeing. They loved to play Bingo and seldom missed Bingo night. Survivors include a daughter, Brenda and husband Victor Ochoa of Scottsbluff, NE and a son Frank Richey and his wife Brenda of Ronan, Montana, two grandsons, Jarrett and Jeffe Richey and many other beloved relatives and friends. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather, her husband John, sisters Linda, and Dorothy, brothers William and Michael. A Celebration Of Life will be held Friday, October 5, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington with Daniel Sauer, officiating. There will be no visitation. Inurnment will be in Cozad Cemetery at Cozad. Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
