Banner Joel Tobar Quinonez

Banner Joel Tobar Quinonez, 21, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at CHI Health Bergan Mercy in Omaha, Nebraska.

He was born on June 21, 2004, in Aldea El Coco, Jalpatagua, Jutiapa, Guatemala to Silsa Quinonez Merlos and Joel Tobar Telles. In 2009, his mother made the decision to move to the United States to create a better future for her children. They moved to Florida for a year where Banner attended middle school before making their home in Lexington, Nebraska. He attended Lexington High School and graduated with the class of 2023.

In his free time, Banner enjoyed showing his creative side. He loved to paint and draw. His dream was to become a tattoo artist. He also enjoyed playing on his PlayStation and exercising. Banner had a big heart and loved his family deeply, always playing with his cousins or giving a helping hand whenever he could. He was known as an incredibly respectful and loving person who will be greatly missed.

He leaves behind his father, mother, brother, sister and everyone else who loved him.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, July 25, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at La Iglesia de Dios de la Profecia with Pastor Otoniel Alvarez officiating.

Burial will be held at a later date in Guatemala.

Memorials are kindly suggested to the family for later designation.

Banner Joel Tobar Quinonez, 21, de Lexington, Nebraska, falleció inesperadamente el sábado 12 de julio de 2025, en CHI Salud Bergan Mercy en Omaha, Nebraska.

Nació el 21 de junio de 2004, en Aldea El Coco, Jalpatagua, Jutiapa, Guatemala, hijo de Silsa Quinonez Merlos y Joel Tobar Telles. En 2009, su madre tomó la decisión de mudarse a los Estados Unidos para crear un futuro mejor para sus hijos. Se mudaron a Florida por un año, donde Banner asistió a la escuela secundaria antes de hacer su hogar en Lexington, Nebraska. Asistió a Lexington High School y se graduó con la clase de 2023.

En su tiempo libre, Banner disfrutaba mostrando su lado creativo. Le encantaba pintar y dibujar. Su sueño era convertirse en un artista del tatuaje. También disfrutaba jugando en su PlayStation y haciendo ejercicio. Banner tenía un gran corazón y amaba a su familia profundamente, siempre jugando con sus primos o dando una mano siempre que podía. Fue conocido como una persona increíblemente respetuosa y amorosa que será muy extrañada.

Deja atrás a su padre, madre, hermano, hermana y a todos los demás que lo amaban.

Los Servicios Funerarios se llevarán a cabo el viernes 25 de julio de 2025, a la 1:00 p.m. en La Iglesia de Dios de la Profecia con el pastor Otoniel Álvarez oficiando.

El entierro se llevará a cabo en una fecha posterior en Guatemala.
