August C. Daake passed away Tuesday, November 26 at Bryan Hospital in Lincoln after too short of a fight with pancreatic cancer.

August was born on August 5, 1954, to Carl and Thelma (Carman) Daake. August graduated from Overton High School in 1972. He attended tech school in Omaha and later in Hastings.

On April 26, 1974, he married Judy Clark of Lexington. The couple lived by Johnson Lake where August was employed by Bossung Farms. In 1976, the couple bought a home in Lexington and August went to work for Paulsen Inc. running an asphalt plant. In 1980, August along with friends established Platte Valley Seamless Gutter, Inc. Later, August became sole owner and ran the business until his retirement in July 2021.

The marriage was blessed with two sons Aaron and Jeffrey.

August enjoyed spending time with family and friends riding dunes and trails on ATVs. He was an avid hunter spending some of his best times in the blind with friends. August also enjoyed shooting sporting clays. He loved spending time with his boys sharing his interest in classic cars and ATVs and introducing his grandchildren to those interests. His weekly Wednesday night shop get together with friends will be missed by many.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Judy of Lexington, his sons Aaron (Shawna) Daake of Arvada, CO, Jeffrey (Beth) Daake of Malcom, NE, grandchildren Gabby and Jocelyn Daake of Colorado and Jameson and Sutton of Nebraska. His sister Karla (Rich) Shafer of Gibbon, sisters-in-law Karen (Frank) Loomer of Columbus, Susan (Chick) DeMoss of Lincoln, numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews and numerous friends.

August was preceded in death by his parents, stepdad, Pat Fellows, sisters Donna (Beck), Deb (Obermiller) and Kris (Sims), brothers-in-law Kenny Beck and Richard Lindeman, nephew Larry Lienemann, sisters-in-law Nancy Lindeman and Tammy Bennett, in-laws Roy and Betty Clark.

Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Lexington with Reverend Eddie Mariel, officiating.

Memorials are kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
