Alice Ourada, age 93, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Lexington Regional Health Center.
Born in O’Neill, Nebraska, to Jess Lloyd and Margaret Anna (Ritchie) Scofield, Alice graduated from O’Neill High School in 1950. She pursued her passion for caring for others by earning her nursing degree from Bryan Memorial Hospital.
Alice began her nursing career at St. Anthony’s Hospital in O’Neill, where she worked from 1953 to 1956. In 1956, she moved to Lexington and there found the love of her life, Eugene Francis Ourada. They were united in marriage on October 18, 1958, and were blessed with a son, Tim. Alice served as a registered nurse at Lexington Community Hospital and later at Tri-County Hospital for 28 years, dedicating her life to the well-being of others.
An active member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Alice generously served her community in many roles, including Sacristan, Eucharistic Minister, and Lector. She also contributed as a Cub Scout Leader and C.C.D. teacher, demonstrating her commitment to both faith and youth.
Alice’s gentle spirit was reflected in her love for crafts, crossword puzzles, and long walks. Above all, she cherished the time spent with her grandchildren, delighting in babysitting and family moments.
She is lovingly remembered by her son, Tim (Deb) Ourada of Lexington; grandchildren, Casey (Chuck) Ricketts of Lincoln and Jesse Ourada of Columbia, Missouri; great-grandson, Carson Johnson and his fiancée Laura Andersen of Lincoln; nephew, Randy (Linda) Malone of California; as well as extended family and friends.
Alice was preceded in death by her devoted husband Eugene in 2007; her parents, Jess Lloyd and Margaret Anna Scofield, and her sisters, Bernice (Lawrence) Parrott and Doris Malone.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2026 from 5-7 p.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington.
A Graveside Service will be on Friday, March 20, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery in Lexington.
