Minnie Louise Walls-Callahan

Minnie Louise Walls-Callahan, 80, of Callaway, Nebraska, went to be with family in Heaven, Sunday, February 12, 2017, at Callaway District Hospital, surrounded by close family. Minnie was born to James Oscar Walls and Florence Nan Pruitt on March 3, 1936, in Wilkes County, North Carolina. She lived most of her life in North Carolina and had recently come to Nebraska to visit her son and family. Minnie was united in marriage to Roy Eldine Callahan, Sr. in 1961. From this marriage, Roy Jr., Mark, Rita, and Elizabeth were born. Minnie enjoyed quilting, baking, gardening, and taking care of her family. She had a very strong faith in the Lord, and even when she could not attend church, she still worshipped and spread His word and love. Minnie is survived by her sons; Roy, Jr. (Cyndy) Callahan of Callaway, Nebraska, Mark Callahan (Angela Sands) of Pinnacle, North Carolina; grandchildren, Roy, III (Melanie) Callahan of Springfield, Missouri, Heather Callahan of Anselmo, Nebraska; Jason (Jennifer) Callahan of Callaway, Nebraska, Jennifer Callahan of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Sara (Sean) Burchette of Clemens, North Carolina, and Jonathon (Laysa) Callahan of Japan; seven great-grandchildren; one brother; and three sisters; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband; daughters, Rita and Elizabeth; brothers, RB and Cebert; and sister, Dorthy. It was Minnie’s wishes that her body be cremated. There will be no visitation. A Memorial Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, February 15, 2017, at 12:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Callaway, Nebraska with Pastor Shannon Williams officiating.
